García Lupo, Rogelio‏

Rogelio García Lupo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 16, 1931. He was a journalist and historian, and was co-founder, along with García Márquez, of the Cuban news agency "Prensa Latina," and author of numerous articles and books. He died on August 19, 2016 in Palermo, Argentina.

García Márquez, Gabriel, 1927-2014

Gabriel García Márquez was born in Aracataca, Colombia, on March 6, 1927. He was an author, journalist, and screenwriter. García Márquez died on April 17, 2014 in Mexico City, Mexico.

Contains correspondence between Gabriel García Márquez and Rogelio García Lupo, consisting of seven letters by García Marquez and five letters by García Lupo. Topics discussed include literary matters, including García Márquez's discussions about his novel, "Cien años de soledad"; as well as political and personal matters.

Arranged chronologically.

Purchased from Librería Aquilanti (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in 2020 (AM 2021-1). Purchase was made in part with funds from the Program in Latin American Studies.
