James Gray was an American historian.
The collection consists of 10 scrapbooks of newspaper clippings compiled by Gray from various newspapers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Subjects include slavery and other contemporary social and political issues, and there are holograph transcriptions of articles from the Pennsylvania Inquirer regarding a course of public lectures given by Rev. John Lord.
