Overview and metadata sections

Princeton University. Triangle Club. Board of Trustees.

The Triangle Club Board of Trustees, which is composed of Triangle Club alumni, was established in 1901 in order to promote the Club, enhance its reputation, make arrangements for the annual tour, and ensure a record of its activities. John Ball, Class of 1952, served as chairman of the Triangle Club's graduate Board of Trustees between 1973 and 1985.

The collection documents the governance of the Triangle Club by its graduate Board of Trustees, particularly under the chairmanship of John Ball '52 (1973-1985), and includes bylaws, correspondence, reports and meeting agendas and minutes. The materials cover the pivotal period in the late 1960s and early 1970s during which Princeton University and the Triangle Club became coeducational institutions. The collection also includes minutes of the board of trustees meetings for 1983-1992 and 2006-2011.

Series 1 was a gift of John Ball'52 in 2010 [AR.2010.074]; Series 2 was a gift of W. Stephen James'74 in 2002 [AR.2002.087]; and Series 3 was a gift of Donald Marsden'64 [AR.2012.143].

For preservation reasons, original analog and digital media may not be read or played back in the reading room. Users may visually inspect physical media but may not remove it from its enclosure. All analog audiovisual media must be digitized to preservation-quality standards prior to use. Audiovisual digitization requests are processed by an approved third-party vendor. Please note, the transfer time required can be as little as several weeks to as long as several months and there may be financial costs associated with the process. Requests should be directed through the Ask Us Form.

Series 2 was added by Christie Peterson in February 2011.
