Overview and metadata sections
Working in conjunction with the Office of Development, Princeton University's Office of the Recording Secretary receives and officially acknowledges gifts to Princeton on behalf of the president and the trustees of the University, and keeps donors informed as to the impact of their gifts.
The files from the Office of the Recording Secretary consist of records of gifts donated to Princeton, organized according to their location on campus. The bulk of the records are correspondence with donors consisting of official acknowledgements and gift updates, however some architectural drawings and financial files are also included as well as bound yearly gift reports and card indexes of donors.
The Recording Secretary's file on former trustee G. Arthur Howell '1939 was added to the collection in 2010 [AR.2010.151].
A container list for this collection was created by Christie Peterson with assistance from Suchi Mandavilli '14 in November 2011. Finding aid updated by Christie Peterson in November 2011.
