Overview and metadata sections

A selection of postcards featuring bridges throughout the United States, Canada, China, and Scotland. With 86 postcards in all, the majority display scenes of American bridges. Postcards range from the 1910s to the 1970s and are either photographs or chromolithographs of a particular bridge, with one exception being a dam. All are printed in either black and white or color on linen textured stock or paper, measuring 9 x 14 cm in dimension. While most postcards are blank on the back side, a few possess dated correspondence between individuals with appropriate postage. Publishers vary.

Postcards are arranged alphabetically by geographical location based on the US state names and foreign countries. They are numbered 01-FOR (item number one, foreign); 11-CA (item number eleven, California); 38-LA (item thirty eight, Louisiana)
