William Henry Haines entered Haverford College in 1867 and graduated in 1871. While at Haverford he played cricket. He was born in Philadelphia on April 1, 1854 and his parents were Lindley Haines and Anne Lindsey Sharp. In 1877 he married Mary Howel and in 1893 he married Phebe Emlem Howell. His children were Joseph H. (1878), Rachel H. Bacon (1880), Mary H. Peacock (1882), and William H. Jr. In 1922 he lived in Germantown, Philadelphia. He was a manufacturer and dealer in plumbing supplies and a member of University and Huntingdon Valley Country Clubs.

This album contains about ten entries of autographs that were pasted in. These entries contain people's names and sometimes the date and their college affiliation. Most of the entries in this album are song lyrics. At the bottom of the lyrics are names of Haverford students, the year the lyrics were added to the album, their graduation year, and their hometown.

There are about ten signatures in the beginning of the book, and the rest of it contains song lyrics.
