William Wistar Comfort served as the president of Haverford College between the years 1917 and 1940. He was a polymath, author of many books dealing with Quaker topics, and a translator. He taught many courses on Quakerism, notes on which are contained in this collection.

The collection consists of William Wistar Comfort's lecture notes, dated 1941-1953, pertaining to a course on Quakerism that he taught at Haverford College, general notes on Quakerism, and a 1956 typescript of the History of Haverford.

The arrangement reflects the original order of the materials.
