Overview and metadata sections
The Women of Color Group was formed with the intention of being a support system for women of color students at Haverford College in the early 1990s. The group published a literary magazine entitled "...And the Colored Girls Go...", organized conferences and symposia, engaged in lettering writing campaigns, and sponsored lectures among other activities. Members of the Women of Color Group helped lead protests for racial justice on Haverford's campus during spring semester 1993. The group was closely associated with Haverford's Women*s Center.
This collection consists of organizational materials, fliers, emails, and publications created by and pertaining to the Women of Color Group at Haverford, dating from 1991 to 2012.The collection includes budgeting documents, materials related to a 1992 symposium, promotional materials for events, and several issues of "...And the Colored Girls Go..." published by the Women of Color Group.
These materials are arranged topically at the file level.
The majority of these materials were held by Haverford College's Women*s Center before being transferred to the College Archives in 2019.
