Founded by Robert Sechler as a reaction to the Twopenny Press, in order to present views from "non-leftists and moderates." Sechler was later joined by Richard Oulahan.
Contents of The Partisan included essays on the Vietnam War, as well as the importance of having a publication that presents alternative viewpoints.
