Overview and metadata sections
Originally called the Office of Minority Affairs, The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) began at Haverford College in the 1980s. The mission of the office was to educate the community about race and ethnicity and to support students of color at Haverford. OMA hosted speakers, planned events, helped students find internships and jobs, and encouraged coalition between students of color across the Tri-Co. OMA helped put on the Tri-Co Winter Institute, which was a yearly, four-day intensive experiential wprkshop docused on issues of race, ethnicity, socio-economic class, gender, religion, and sexual orientation. In 2022, the office was renamed to the Race and Ethnicity Education Office, to more accurately represent the mission of the office.
