The Feminist and Gender Studies concentration began as a Bi-College concentration under the name Gender and Women Studies. The concentration was renamed Feminist and Gender Studies in 1990 and was renamed again in 2005 to Gender and Sexuality Studies. As of 2025, Gender and Sexuality Studies has seperate but overlapping programs for Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges.
This collection includes materials related to the Feminist and Gender Studies Concentration. The collection includes emails sent to students and faculty on the Feminist and Gender Studies mailing list; materials related to the concentration's name change; newsletters; and promotional materials related to events hosted by and affiliated with the concentration.

Collection Inventory
This series includes emails sent to students and faculty on the Feminist and Gender Studies mailing list. Many of the emails are sent from Anne Dalke, the Bryn Mawr department head for the concentration. The emails include announcements about upcoming events, speakers, and courses related to the concentration. There are also longer email newsletters that cover broader topics inlcuding potential internship and job opportunities that may interest concentrators. Some emails also attend to matters outside the Colleges, such as 9/11.
This folder contains two copies of the "Referendum to Rename the Concentration in Feminist and Gender Studies" and one email about the pros and cons of renaming the concentration. The referendum includes pros and cons of each potential concentration name and includes a summary of how students, faculty, and staff voted on these potential names in fall 2003.
