Susanna Sharpless (1815-1907) was born on May 1, 1815, the daughter of James and Ann Forsythe. She married Aaron Sharpless in 1847, and the couple had three children: James F. Sharpless, William Truman Sharpless, and Susanna Sharpless. She died on October 8, 1907, in Brimingham, Pennsylvania.

This collection is comprised of the single volume manuscript of Susanna Sharpless. The manuscript provides a brief biography of Aaron Sharpless, but the majority of the volume describes Aaron Sharpless's illness and death. The manuscript provides a daily record of Aaron Sharpless's final days, with quotes from interactions with family members and prayers made by Aaron Sharpless on his death bed.
