Sarah Grubb Newlin (1764-1830) was born in Chester, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Lydia (Baker) Grubb and Samuel Grubb. Thomas Newlin (1747-1811), was born in Concord, Chester, Pennsylvania and was a blacksmith. He was the son of Nathaniel Newlin and Esther Metcalf. The couple had two children, Samuel Newlin and Nathaniel Newlin.
This collection consists of a marriage certificate between Sarah Grubb and Thomas Newlin, record by Caleb Peirce in 1782. The two were married at the Concord Monthly Meeting. The document includes information about the bride and the groom, the ceremony declaration, and signatures of the members present at the wedding.
