Florence Mae Smith was born in Harrison County, Indiana, in 1904. In 1948, she went to the Jubilee held at the Happy Grove School in Jamaica with the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC). She visited Mexico during the same year, also with the AFSC. She died in 1998 at the age of 94.

This collection contains a testimonial written by people that Florence Mae Smith met in Mexico in 1956. The testimonial features messages and signatures by these friends, along with a hand-drawn illustrated border.
