Thomas Drake (1907-1999) was born in 1907 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He and Constance Drake, his wife, lived in Pennsylvania during the fall, winter, and spring months, and were residents of Nantucket in the summer. The pair traveled extensively, most notably to New Zealand during the early 1970's. Drake died in 1999, and was buried on Nantucket.
Edward Moore Kennedy (February 22, 1932 - August 25, 2009), also called Teddy, was an American politician from Massachusetts who served in the United States Senate for almost 47 years, from 1962 until his death in 2009.
This collection contains three letters written between Thomas E. Drake and his wife, Constance, and Senator Edward Kennedy concerning the Nantucket Sound Islands Trust bill.
This collection is arranged in a single folder.
The Thomas Drake letters were donated to Special Collections, Haverford College in 1979. Accession # 4020.
