The Borthwick Institute for Archives was opened in 1953, as a result of a campaign begun in the 1940s to open a University in York. The Institute became a part of the University of York in 1963.

This collection is comprised of two photocopied summary list of archival collections held at the University of York Borthwick Institute of Historical Research.
