Overview and metadata sections

The first ticket, "supplement for the Easton Delaware Bridge Lottery," was likely funding the construction of what is today called the Northampton Street Bridge in Easton, PA. The structure was built in 1895. The second ticket advertises what seems to be a general store or drug store run by A. R. Haines--a business which sold paint, hardware, window glass, and patent medicine. The third ticket is for the Exposition Universelle in 1889--one of the world's fairs held in Paris and most famous for the construction of the Eiffel Tower. The fourth ticket is for the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893. That Exposition, held in Chicago, aimed to celebrate the approximate 400th anniversary of the landing of Columbus in the Americas.

This collection consists of four tickets. The first ticket is for the "supplement for the Easton Delaware Bridge Lottery" and is undated. The second ticket is an advertising slip for A. R. Haines, also undated. The third ticket is for the Exposition Universelle, dated 1889. The fourth and final ticket is for the World's Columbian Exposition and is dated 1893.
