The text is "a copy of verses compos'd for and addrest to S---- R---- a child of three years of age." The text contains a letter to the child and to the child's parents, prose descriptions of the order and contents of the poem, and then the poem. The poem appears to have been addressed to a female child. Topics include friendship, obedience, attention to parents, and charity.

This single volume contains an explanatory preface followed by the poem of the title.
