Abstract:
Carolyn O'Connor, M.D., is a rheumatologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and professor emerita of medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM). She published her first book, Osteoporosis for Dummies, in 2005. The Carolyn O'Connor, M.D., papers span approximately 2.9 linear feet and consist mostly of research files and drafts of published articles. The records date from circa 1971-1991, although the bulk of the materials date to the 1980s. Researchers interested in the study of rheumatological diseases during the late 20th century, such as arthritis and lupus, may find this collection of use. Researchers should note that this collection is not fully processed.

Carolyn O'Connor, M.D., is a rheumatologist at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and professor emerita of medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM). Previously, she was a faculty member, head of the rheumatology division, and served as associate director of the Rheumatology Fellowship program at DUCOM from 2001 to 2022. O'Connor earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry from Yale University in 1974, and her MD from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1978. She did her internship at The New York Hospital Cornell Medical School, and her rheumatology residency at Boston University Medical Center.
