Overview and metadata sections

This extensive collection contains 26 scrapbooks (some dismantled, some bound) of newspaper clippings, 1868-1975, as well as loose clippings, 1939-1995, connected with the Women's Medical College of Pennsylvania/Medical College of Pennsylvania (W/MCP) or general medical related topics. Special topics of interest include the founding and history of W/MCP and the role of the woman physician in the medical world. Articles are clipped from local (Philadelphia Inquirer; Public Ledger; Evening Public Ledger; Evening Bulletin; Philadelphia Record), neighborhood (Germantown Courier; The Suburban Press), and national newspapers (New York Times). The loose clippings were transferred intermittently to the archives from the Public Relations/Communications Department. The clippings include Dateline MCP, a compilation of reprints from local and national newspapers and magazine articles.
