Dr. Iva M. Townsend Miller, Acting Director Council on Health Education, Shanghai, was a field worker for the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA). In the 1930s, AMWA appointed Miller to compile data on women missionaries for use in a history of "Medical Women of the World". This collection contains Miller's correspondence with medical missionaries (seeking biographical information), 1934-1936; two notebooks with Miller's research notes on missionaries, 1896-1935; lists of medical women missionaries; reprints and original publications of women in foreign missionary societies, 1901; reprint of an article written by Miller, 1928; and news clipping and reprints of an article featuring Miller, 1936.
