John Henry Fager, Harrisburg, Pa., physician, attended courses in the University of Pennsylvania's Medical Department during the 1827-1828 academic session. His preceptor was Martin Luther. John H. Fager married Mary Hayes Buffington and was the father of physicians Charles Buffington Fager and John Henry Fager.

Student notes taken by John H. Fager on lectures of Nathaniel Chapman on practice of physic and pathology, poisons, and epidemics, at University of Pennsylvania, 1827. Includes notes on several authors concerning practice of medicine and descriptions and specifics for common diseases.
