Volume of lecture notes and notes on current medical journals and literature compiled by J. H. Huddleston while a student at the Medical School of Harvard University, [ca. 18891890]. Primary contents of the lecture notes concern surgery, clinical surgery, orthopaedic surgery, and the diseases of children; many lectures were delivered at Boston City Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital as part of clinical training for students. Lecturers include: Edward H. Bradford, Herbert L. Burrell, Arthur T. Cabot, David W. Cheever, George W. Gay, Charles B. Porter, Thomas M. Rotch, Charles P. Strong, J. Collins Warren, and Francis S. Watson. The lecture notes, arranged chronologically, cover an academic year in the Medical School from October to April, probably 18891890, from the third class. Most of Huddleston's reading notes concern orthopaedic surgical topics. Particular attention is paid to Richard Barwell's "A treatise on diseases of the joints".
