Overview and metadata sections
This collection includes a large collection of pins, ribbons and buttons, many owned by Jane Campbell and M. Carey Thomas. Campbell founded the Philadelphia County Woman Suffrage Association in 1869. She was one of the few prominent Catholic feminists at the time.Thomas was the second president of Bryn Mawr College from 1894-1922. Also included in the collection are postcards, both pro- and anti- suffrage, newspaper clipppings on the life of Dr. Anna Howard Shaw, and portrait photographs of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony.
The collection includes around seventy-five broadsides (including posters, advertisements, and persuasive arguments), pamphlets and leaflets published by various women's suffrage groups across the United States, many from Pennsylvania and California. The collection also contains three-dimensional material from various suffrage conventions and conferences.
