- Abstract:
- Allan Rohan Crite (1910-2007) was a renowned African American artist, whose works are featured in galleries, churches, and museums throughout the United States. The Allan Rohan Crite papers, circa 1930-1980, focus on Crite's artwork and career, with little about his private life and few personal papers. There are original and copies of his artworks; recordings and transcripts of lectures given by Crite on his artwork, African American art, religion, and other topics; newspaper clippings; correspondence; printed matter such as exhibition catalogs; and books written by Crite (
All Glory) or featuring his illustrations.
