Abstract:
This collection is comprised of three volumes of the travel journals of Margaret Jenkins. The first volume describes Jenkins's voyage from New York to San Francisco, and her voyage home from San Francisco to New York via Liverpool. The remaining two volumes describe Margaret Jenkins's trip to the Himalayan Mountains in 1911 and 1912, to visit her cousin, who was a missionary there.

Walter Robson's journal is entitled "Voyage to America and travels in the United States." While in the United States, Robson traveled to various Friends and meetings in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Ohio, Chicago, Iowa, Indianapolis, Baltimore, North Carolina, and New York.

Walter Hinchman portfolio, 1867-1873 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Walter Hinchman's portfolio of sketches and photographs includes the many of the plates used in his book, "Sketches & Poems." The sketches were done during Hinchman's time at a machine shop in Ohio at the end of the Civil War and on a survey trip (1867-1868) for a transcontinental railway from Kansas to California. There are sketches of the Pennsylvania Steel Company (1869), animals, flowers, trees, people, and landscapes.

Also includes sketches of meeting houses, plants found on his travels, and landscapes, including landscapes of South Carolina, Louisiana, western prairies, Spanish Missions in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Yosemite.
