Much of the correspondence is to, or from, Ed Pearson, a founder and National Coordinator of CMTC. The collection includes information about international war tax resistance efforts, nonviolent direct action campaigns, and grants made from interest on the escrow account.

Citizens Against Nuclear War Records, 1982-2012 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Citizens Against Nuclear War was a coalition of 61 national organizations formed in 1982 as an initiative of the National Education Association. It had the goal of educating citizens about efforts to prevent nuclear war. Organizations which belonged to CAN encouraged their individual members to become informed about issues related to nuclear war. Among the members were professional associations, religious communities, women's and minority organizations, and labor unions. Programs included information and commentary for members' publications, speakers, seminars and legislative bulletins.

Abstract:: Zena Goldin Posever founded Artists Speak for Peace in South Florida in 1979(?) and organized their exhibitions in Greater Miami. In the mid-1980s, she advocated for the U.S. postal stamp honoring Paul Robeson. Posever has been a life-long member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom.

C. Douglas Hostetter Papers, 1959- (bulk)

Abstract:: C. Douglas Hostetter (1944 - ), has been an peace activist since the 1960s. He was a conscientious objector during the Vietnam war and performed alternative service for the Mennonite Central Committee in rural Vietnam.Following his work in Vietnam Hostetter worked for the United Methodist Church at the United Nations on international affairs. From the mid 1980s through the end of the decade Hostetter served as the executive secretary of the American Friends Service Committee in their New England regional office. He served as the Executive Secretary of the Fellowship of Reconcilation from 1987-1993. During the 1990s Hostetter was the international/interfaith secretary of the FOR and directed the Bosnian Student Project for the organization. In 2003 he was ordained as Peace Pastor at the Evanston, Illinois Mennonite Church. Since 2006 Hostetter has been the director of the Mennonite Central Committee at the United Nations.
