Abstract:
Historical Society of Montgomery County school records collection, 1814-1989, consists of miscellaneous records from schools in the vicinity of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Many different types of schools are represented in the collection, including public, private, and religious (both sunday schools and seminaries); the educational level ranges from primary to post-secondary. There are many types of records from both school districts and individual schools, including minute books, classroom attendance rolls, school catalogs and publications, teachers' monthly reports, etc.

Nicholas L. Childs family papers, 1818-1991 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Childs and Moon families were long-time residents of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Nicholas Lewarne Childs (1940-2009) taught history and Asian studies in private secondary schools in New Jersey, Iran, and Singapore. The bulk of the Childs family papers, 1818-1991, relate to Nicholas L. Childs and date from about 1965 to 1991, but there are also older materials from Louis M. Childs II, Nicholas L. Moon, Jacob Childs, Lizzy Orchard, and other Childs and Moon family members. The collection is comprised of correspondence, travel journals, travel ephemera, lecture notes and slides, photographs, genealogical research, legal documents, vital records, and other miscellaneous papers.

Holland School scrapbooks, 1931-1976 (inclusive)

Abstract:
The Holland School at Curren Terrace in Norristown, Pennsylvania opened around 1930 as the Martha Holland Day School. As of 2012, the Holland School was still operating as Tot Time Child Development Center. The Holland School scrapbooks, 1931-1976, consist of scrapbooks put together by classes, with thank-you notes to teachers, photographs, and descriptions of and ephemera from class trips. There are also some loose newspaper clippings and greeting cards in the collection, as well as three notebooks from class secretaries.
