Abstract:: The collection contains miscellaneous manuscripts collected by Paul Rodebaugh. It includes: drafts of letters by an unknown author, 1844-1849, which express support for abolition and discuss contemporary U.S. politics; an anonymous Quaker journal of an 1817 trip from Philadelphia to Ohio; an undated journal of a sea and river journey from Philadelphia to Europe and then from Florida to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and a small number of miscellaneous letters involving the Dilworth and Sharpless families.

Abstract:: The collection contains correspondence received by members of the King family, Quaker residents of Ceres, McKean County, Pennsylvania. The letters primarily deal with family concerns. One from Mary (King) Swayne, written in 1817, mentions that her husband, Joel Swayne, had contemplated returning to Indian territory but her poor health prevented his leaving. Anna King mentions her students and is distressed by the tensions in the Society of Friends in 1828.

Abstract:: Horace Mather Lippincott (1877-1967) was a Quaker editor and historian. The collection contains his speeches and writings on topics primarily concerning the Society of Friends and the history of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Of particular interest is the scrapbook he compiled in 1946 of papers and photographs of the 1913-1914 Joint Group which met weekly to study the Separation in the Society of Friends, along with other papers on the topic and on the first joint meeting of the two Philadelphia Yearly Meetings in 1946. The collection includes genealogical research by Horace Mather Lippincott and his brother George E. Lippincott, deeds, and some family papers.
