Abstract:
Melanie Atherton Updegraff (1886-1973) was a 1908 graduate of Bryn Mawr who went on to do missionary work for the Presbyterian Mission Board alongside her husband, Reverend David Benjamin Updegraff. The two were primarily stationed in Kolhapur and later Nipani, in West India. The collection includes correspondence between Updegraff and her sisters, children, and sister-in-law, among other family members, photographs of the Atherton and Updegraff families, an autograph collection, and brochures, pamphlets, and official documentation pertaining to Updegraff's missionary work. Updegraff's four sisters and three daughters all went to Bryn Mawr, and we hear about entrance exams, musical productions, and other campus activities in their letters.

Phyllis Dubsky Feldkamp papers, 1930-2017 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Phyllis Dubsky Feldkamp attended Bryn Mawr College as part of the class of 1937, and was a journalist living in France in the 1950s and 1960s where she began writing about fashion. She served as the Fashion and Style Editor for the Philadelphia Bulletin from 1968 to 1982, and also did much free-lance writing. The collection includes interviews and correspondence with figures in the fashion industry, and copies of nearly all of her writings. Additionally, it contains over 300 photographs, ranging from high quality prints to candids and photographs of herself, and stories and vignettes about growing up written by her daughter, Phoebe Feldkamp.

The Conversational Club of Norristown is a women's education club founded in 1885 that continues to meet today whose purpose is the "Study of History, Literature, and Art, and the promotion of intelligent thought and conversation." The collection of the club's papers consists of records of the meetings and activities of the club from 1885 to 2013 primarily in the forms of minutes, programs, correspondence, and other sources collected by the club.

Margaret Hall Whitfield Papers, 1943-2013 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Margaret Rumsey Hall Whitfield (bornJune 23, 1933) was a 1955 graduate of Bryn Mawr College, did graduate work at Radcliffe and Harvard in Education in the late 1950s, and spent much of her life in either Concord or Great Barrington, Massachusetts, where she raised a family, raised and rode horses, managed businesses and property, and wrote. She was the daughter of Elizabeth Blodgett Hall, founder of Simon's Rock College, and Livingston Hall, who taught law at Harvard. The papers consist of her extensive notebooks of journal entries, correspondence, photographs, and writings documenting her life from high school at the Cambridge School in Weston, MA in 1947 to her move to California in the 2000s. The Pennsylvania National Organization for Women (PA NOW) papers occupy fourteen boxes and contain the feminist organization's records about their activities and meetings as well as materials about women's issues such as reproductive rights; violence against women; gender, economic, and constitutional equality; and civil rights. The records date from 1970 to 2007 and include newspaper clippings, articles, meeting notes, office files, activism realia, and lobbying records, among other things.

Abstract:
The Deanery was the home of the first Dean and second President of Bryn Mawr College, M. Carey Thomas, from 1885 to 1933. From 1933 until 1968, when the building was demolished for the construction of Canaday Library, the building served as the college's Alumnae Center and Inn. The collection is comprised primarily of Deanery records, mostly inventories of the building, and the files of Carol Campbell, Curator of Art and Artifacts in Bryn Mawr College's Special Collections
