Abstract:: The American Swedish Historical Museum genealogy collection, 1880-1922, consists of genealogical research materials collected by the American Swedish Historical Museum on various American families of Swedish descent. It is arranged in two series: Series I. Genealogy files in alphabetical order, and Series II. Miscellaneous narrative genealogies, family history notes, and family trees. The genealogy files typically include a family history fact sheet, and any combination of the following: photographs, newspaper clippings, short genealogical narratives, research notes, correspondence with the American Swedish Historical Museum.

Abstract:: Esther Griffin Leggett was born around 1855 and lived most of her life in Phoenixville, Chester County, Pennsylvania. An active volunteer at the local public library, she was known as the "story hour lady" for decades. Leggett traveled extensively and internationally in the early 20th century before passing away in 1935. The Esther Leggett travel scrapbooks, 1901-1927, include diary entries by Leggett as well as photo postcards, photographs, maps, ephemera, and some botanical specimens. There are 31 volumes documenting Leggett's domestic and international travels; of special interest is a volume about the US's entry into World War I.

Abstract:: Promoting Enduring Peace was founded in 1952, with headquarters in Woodmont, Connecticut. Principles of the organization included: peace with freedom and justice for all, support for the United Nations, and belief in religion as the fundamental force for righteousness. Today PEP's mission is to conduct peace education promoting the advent of a harmonious planetary commonwealth through the convergence of the worldwide movements for disarmament, social justice, and environmental stewardship as the foundation of sustainable peace; through education and citizen diplomacy. The PEP established the Gandhi Peace Award.

Abstract:: Greenham Women Against Cruise Missiles was organized in 1983 by a group of women who were part of the Greenham Common Women's Peace Camp in Great Britain. Several activists at Greenham organized Greenham Women Against Cruise Missiles, which sought to use the U.S. legal system to challenge the right of the U.S. government to deploy nuclear missiles on foreign soil. Although the suit was unsuccessful, a group of Greenham women traveled around the United States speaking out about the growing objections in the international community to the ongoing escalation of the nuclear arms race.
