- The Penn Museum began excavating in Cyprus during the 1930-31 season foloowing up at Kourion beginning in 1934. Interrupted by World War II, (1941-1945) it continued until 1954. The expedition revealed an extensive area of settlement containing sites inhabited variously from the Neolithic through Byzantine periods. The Kourion, Cyprus Expedition Records consist of 34 boxes of correspondence, accounts books, field notebooks, drawings, plans, photographs, reports and manuscripts. The collection also contains object cards and object catalogues.
