Abstract:
The land that is now the Morris Arboretum at the University of Pennsylvania, the official Arboretum of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, was previously the private estate of Quaker siblings John Thompson Morris (1847-1915) and Lydia Thompson Morris (1849-1932). The Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania plans, drawings, and maps collection, 1909-2013, depicts the lands, gardens, buildings, and landscape features of the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania.

Olmsted Landscape Firm Collection, circa 1980-2010

Abstract:
Beginning in 1857 with the design for Central Park in New York City, Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903), his sons and successor firm created designs for more than 6,000 landscapes across North America, including many of the world's most important parks. The materials in Olmsted Landscape Firm Collection, circa 1980-2010--most of which are secondary sources or copies--relate to the Olmsted Brothers' landscape work in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia.
