Abstract:: John Scott was a photographer. John Scott portrait negatives of scientists, circa 1920-1930s, consist of approximately 2,500 film negatives of portraits of male and female scientists from the United States and around the world. The negatives are labeled with the name and field of study of the scientist, as well as a school with which they are associated or a location.

Abstract:: Charles R. Pancoast (1854-1931) was a photographer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania active from the 1870s to 1922. In his shop, Pancoast developed his own photographs as well as those of other photographers. He enjoyed traveling and captured many images from foreign locations. Charles R. Pancoast lantern slides, late 19th century-early 20th century, consist of over twelve hundred slides taken by Pancoast in Philadelphia and during his travels throughout the North America, Asia, the Middle East, and South America.
