Abstract:: Perkasie is located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania midway between Philadelphia and Allentown. The site of William Penn's 'Perkasie Manor,' the town was incorporated in 1879 and by the turn of the century had become the third largest station on the North Penn railroad line. The Perkasie Historical Society local history collection, 1848-2000, consists of various materials including scrapbooks, deeds, maps, business and organizational records, personal papers, receipts and invoices, and other documents relating to the people and organizations based in and around Perkasie, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Pearl S. Buck International photograph collection, circa 1860-2005

Abstract:: In 1964 the Pearl S. Buck Foundation was organized by American author and humanitarian Pearl S. Buck (1892-1973) to provide support to children in Asian countries who were not eligible for adoption. In 1999, the Foundation changed its name to Pearl S. Buck International (PSBI). As of 2015, PSBI strives to support cross-cultural understanding and appreciation, enhance the quality of life for children around the world, and promote Pearl S. Buck's legacy by preserving and interpreting Green Hills Farm, her home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Pearl S. Buck International photograph collection, circa 1860-2005, consists of the photographs from the Pearl S. Buck and Richard J. Walsh papers, as well as images from Pearl S. Buck International. The images are organized by subject and include original photographs and some copies or enlargements. There are a few tintypes, contact sheets, and negatives.

Abstract:: Settled by Quakers beginning in 1680, the small town of Langhorne in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, grew as an important transportation center between Trenton and Philadelphia due to its location at the intersection of major roads connecting the two cities. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the town, which served as a stop along the rail line, became a popular summer vacation destination for wealthy Philadelphians. The Historic Langhorne Association photograph and photo postcard collection, circa 1867-2012 contains photographs, postcards, negatives, and oversized images that document the people, buildings, events, and streets of Langhorne, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and the surrounding area from the mid-19th century until the present.

Park Land Association financial records and leases, 1914-1960 (inclusive)

Abstract:: The area of Parkland, near Langhorne in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was turned into a summer resort in the 1890s by the Parkland Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association, an off-shoot of the First Association of Spiritualists of Philadelphia. The area remained popular as a summer resort destination for several decades before the summer homes were converted to year-round rental units. The Park Land Association was the rental organization leasing properties in the area. The Park Land Association financial records and leases, 1914-1960, include tax reports, cash books, check stubs, capital stock taxes, miscellaneous financial correspondence, cancelled checks, and leases.

Frank Blase collection on North Penn History, 1930-1997 (bulk) 1884-1997 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Francis "Frank" Blase Jr. (1938-1999) was a Pennsylvania resident was devoted to local and coal mining history. He was a member of the Lansdale Historical Society (Montgomery County, Pa.) and founded the North Penn Historical Library (Montgomery County, Pa.) and the Research Library for Coal Mining (Pottsville, Pa.). The Frank Blase collection on North Penn History, 1884-1997, consists almost entirely of newspaper clippings, with a few original photographs (circa 1900-1915), handwritten notes, and pamphlets. The collection focuses on the North Penn region of Montgomery County (near Lansdale, Pa.); parts of Philadelphia, Berks, Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania are also covered in the collection.

Abstract:: The Bucks County Prison was built in 1885 on Pine Street in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to relieve overcrowding at the county jail and was used for a century. James A. Michener Art Museum Archives collection of Bucks County Prison photographs and ephemera, 1880-1987, consists of photographs of the Bucks County Prison while it was in use and after it was abandoned, photographs of prison warden John Case and his family, and other materials. A majority of the photographs are facsimiles.

Abstract:: George W. Sotter (1879-1953) was a painter and stained-glass window designer in Holicong, Pennsylvania, near New Hope, Bucks County. George Sotter papers, 1930-1954, consist of Sotter's sketchbooks; negatives and slides of Sotter's work; reference materials, drawings, oversized cartoons, and layouts for stained-glass window designs; and correspondence. There are also some materials from his wife, Alice (Bennett) Sotter (1883-1968), and New Hope Art Associates minutes, 1939-1942.
