Abstract:: The area of Parkland, near Langhorne in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, was turned into a summer resort in the 1890s by the Parkland Spiritualist Camp Meeting Association, an off-shoot of the First Association of Spiritualists of Philadelphia. The area remained popular as a summer resort destination for several decades before the summer homes were converted to year-round rental units. The Park Land Association was the rental organization leasing properties in the area. The Park Land Association financial records and leases, 1914-1960, include tax reports, cash books, check stubs, capital stock taxes, miscellaneous financial correspondence, cancelled checks, and leases.

Abstract:: The Historic Langhorne Association collection of fraternal organizations, 1846-1937, includes the records of the local chapters of three secret fraternal organizations: the Knights of the Golden Eagle, the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, and the Independent Order of Red Men. The records consist primarily of minutes and financial records, such as account books and membership dues.

Abstract:: The first reunion of the Bergey family was held in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1900. The family descends from Hans Ulrich Bergey, a Swiss-born Mennonite who settled in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania around 1717.

Frank Blase collection on North Penn History, 1930-1997 (bulk) 1884-1997 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Francis "Frank" Blase Jr. (1938-1999) was a Pennsylvania resident was devoted to local and coal mining history. He was a member of the Lansdale Historical Society (Montgomery County, Pa.) and founded the North Penn Historical Library (Montgomery County, Pa.) and the Research Library for Coal Mining (Pottsville, Pa.). The Frank Blase collection on North Penn History, 1884-1997, consists almost entirely of newspaper clippings, with a few original photographs (circa 1900-1915), handwritten notes, and pamphlets. The collection focuses on the North Penn region of Montgomery County (near Lansdale, Pa.); parts of Philadelphia, Berks, Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh, and Lancaster counties in Pennsylvania are also covered in the collection.

Abstract:: The Bucks County Prison was built in 1885 on Pine Street in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to relieve overcrowding at the county jail and was used for a century. James A. Michener Art Museum Archives collection of Bucks County Prison photographs and ephemera, 1880-1987, consists of photographs of the Bucks County Prison while it was in use and after it was abandoned, photographs of prison warden John Case and his family, and other materials. A majority of the photographs are facsimiles.

Abstract:: George W. Sotter (1879-1953) was a painter and stained-glass window designer in Holicong, Pennsylvania, near New Hope, Bucks County. George Sotter papers, 1930-1954, consist of Sotter's sketchbooks; negatives and slides of Sotter's work; reference materials, drawings, oversized cartoons, and layouts for stained-glass window designs; and correspondence. There are also some materials from his wife, Alice (Bennett) Sotter (1883-1968), and New Hope Art Associates minutes, 1939-1942.

Abstract:: Daniel Garber (1880-1958) was a painter best known for his landscapes and scenic paintings of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Garber also excelled at etching and taught at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts for over forty years. Abstract:: Bristol Borough in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, became an important area due to its location along the Delaware River, a major land route, and subsequent rail line linking Philadelphia and New York City. Incorporated in 1720, it served as the county seat from 1705 to 1726. The Bristol History photograph collection, circa 1860-2013, consists of various photographs, mostly originals with some copies, relating to Bristol (Bucks County, Pennsylvania) and surrounding areas.
