The Cope-Evans papers cover the years 1683 to 2012, and detail the history of the inter-related Cope and Evans families, important Philadelphia-area Quakers. The papers are divided into four series: Personal and Family papers, Business papers, J. Morris Evans papers, and Miscellaneous.

Awbury Arboretum Association records, 1868-2011 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Henry Cope purchased 40 acres of land in East Germantown, Pennsylvania in 1852 where he built a home for his growing family. Over the next 70 years, his descendants build 24 houses representing a variety of architectural styles. A portion of this land, now known as the Awbury Arboretum, was left to the City Parks Association in 1916 to protect it from development. The Awbury Arboretum Association records, 1868-2011, includes administrative records, financial records, and research compiled by Awbury Arboretum staff. There are also a large number of transcribed oral histories included in this collection.

Abstract:
Henry Cope purchased 40 acres of land in East Germantown, Pennsylvania in 1852 where he built a home for his growing family. Over the next 70 years, his descendants build 24 houses representing a variety of architectural styles. A portion of this land, now known as the Awbury Arboretum, was left to the City Parks Association in 1916 to protect it from development. The Awbury Arboretum Association Cope family collection, 1791-2011, encompasses several small collections donated by various descendants of the Cope family. It includes correspondence, deeds, financial records, journals, and photographs.

Woodbourne Orchards and family of Francis R. Cope Jr., 1848-1997 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Papers of the Cope family whose members descended from or were forebears of Francis R. Cope Jr. (1878-1962). The bulk of the papers was created by Francis R. Cope Jr., his daughter, Theodora Morris Cope and her first husband, John Frederick Stanwell-Fletcher. Other principal writers in the collection are Alexis T. Cope, Agnes Cope, Anna S. Cope, Caroline Cope, Clementine Cope, Elizabeth S. Cope, and Evelyn Cope, all from the 19th and 20th century. The earlier Copes were Quakers, but some joined other Protestant denominations.
