- Abstract:
- Established around the turn of the 18th century, the Langhorne Hotel served the numerous visitors who traveled through the transportation hub of Langhorne (Bucks County, Pa.) on their way between Philadelphia (Pa.) and Trenton (N.J.). Ruth Ehrlen Irwin's father, George G. Ehrlen, owned the Langhorne Hotel from 1905 to 1937. A native of Langhorne, Ruth Ehrlen Irwin worked as a teacher primarily in the Langhorne-Middletown School District. The Ruth Ehrlen Irwin collection, 1890-2008, consists of various materials, including hotel registers, scrapbooks, photographs, and ephemera relating to the Langhorne Hotel, Ruth Ehrlen Irwin, Irwin's family, and the history of Langhorne.
