Abstract:

Barbara J. Kukla (born 1940) is an author and an authority on the Newark, New Jersey, jazz scene. This collection consists of ten acetate discs containing classical, gospel, and popular music, dating from at least 1937 to 1939. It includes a recording of Marian Anderson's performance at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, on April 9, 1939.
