Leading aircraftman Clinton photograph album of India, 1944-1945 (inclusive)

This collection is consists of one album of just under 100 photographs taken in India from 1944 to 1945 by a leading aircraft man (L.A.C.) in the Royal Air Force whose surname was Clinton. The photos in the album are all of India. In addition, there is a handful of loose photos from outside India.

British soldier's photograph album of India, 1930-1934 (inclusive)

Abstract:
This collection consists of about 170 photographs, placed in an album, taken in India between 1930 and 1934 by an unidentified British soldier. Though the soldier is unknown, it is almost certain that he served in the Royal Fusiliers. The photographs in the album largely depict the every day life of British soldiers and their social activities, as well as providing evidence of British interest in Indian life and customs.

Henry Vaux photograph albums of India, 1911-1929 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Major Henry George Vaux (1883-1957) was a military secretary in the British Army, posted in India. He served as Aide de Camp to Lord Carmichael who served as Governor of Victoria from 1908 to 1911, Governor of Madras from 1911 to 1912, and Governor of Bengal from 1912 to 1914. Major Vaux also served under Lord Ronaldshay, Lord Lytton and Lord Sykes. He was named Companion of the Order of the Indian Empire in 1921 by King George the V. Major Vaux ended his career as a Lieutenant Colonel. The five volumes of photographs capture the luxurious style and activities present in the lives of the highest ranking British military posted to India, and their families, in the early part of the 20th century. The subject of many photographs are the leisure activities enjoyed by this group – horse races, polo, hunting, tennis – as well as ceremonial events such as visits of kings, queens and dignitaries of all kind. Abstract:
The Frothingham and Roberts families were joined when Mary Foster Frothingham (1863-1934) and George Wood Bissell Roberts (1859-1941) were married on February 10, 1886. This collection documents three generations of the Frothingham family of Massachusetts and the Roberts family of Philadelphia and Riverton, New Jersey. The bulk of the material consists of extended family correspondence dating from 1862 to 1936 to and or from George W.B. Roberts and his wife Mary Foster Frothingham Roberts.

Abstract:
This collection documents the career of Carol Joyce (born 1946), a bookbinder, conservator, designer, and artist, specializing in book and paper restoration, limited edition books, conservation enclosures, and the rebinding of damaged books. She owned and operated Academy Books and Bindery, in Stockton, New Jersey, from 1983 to 2008. The collection contains many examples of limited-edition books that she produced or collected, as well as visual and written documentation for some of her projects.

Richard Gimbel photograph album of Philadelphia and Atlantic City, 1911-1913 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Richard Louis Gimbel (1898-1970) was vice president of Gimbel Brothers, an officer in the United States Air Force, and a book collector. This photograph album documents, to a small degree, his life from 1911 to 1913, through 56 black and white photographs, numbered and captioned by Gimbel. The volume contains images of his extended family in Atlantic City; his classmates and friends at the School of Practice of the School of Pedagogy; events in Philadelphia such as the New Years Day parade, fires in the city, and landmark buildings; and a baseball game that probably took place in Philmont, Pennsylvania.
