Abstract:: The Moore family arrived in Philadelphia in the early nineteenth century and opened a wire company in the city. The Alfred Fitler Moore Family Papers consist of correspondence, diaries, financial material, photographs, and artifacts of Joseph and Cecelia (Fitler) Moore; their children William Joseph, Jr, and Alfred; as well as Cecelia's father and brother Alfred Fitler and Alfred Fitler, Jr. The bulk of the collection relates to Alfred Fitler Moore, benefactor of the Alfred Fitler Moore School of Electrical Engineering.

Abstract:: Georg Lunge (1839–1923) war ein deutsch-schweizer Chemiker, der in Breslau (Wrocław), Heidelberg, in der Nähe von Newcastle und Zürich lebte und forschte. Die Sammlung besteht zum großen Teil aus eigenen Veröffentlichungen aus der Zeit von 1859 bis 1907. Die vornehmlich auf Deutsch, in Teilen auf Englisch und Französisch verfassten Schriften decken ein breites Themenspektrum des Fachbereichs der Chemie ab. / Georg Lunge (1839–1923) was a German-Swiss chemist who lived and studied in Wrocław (Breslau), Heidelberg, near Newcastle and Zurich. His collection consists largely of his own publications from the time period between 1859 and 1907. The papers are written mainly in German, some in English or French. The collection covers a wide range of topics in the field of chemistry.

Abstract:: Mary McMoneagle was a Pennsylvania nurse from the 1910s until the 1930s. She was a graduate of the Frankford Hospital Training School for Nurses. McMoneagle's career included nursing for munitions manufacturing employee and tuberculosis patients.

Abstract:: The collection consists of 12 letters written by Henry Voelcker, of Philadelphia, to his wife, Catherine Voelcker (later: Catherine Rabe), over several months during a trip to Germany, in 1879, along with a small notebook containing a draft of another letter. Henry and Catherine were both German immigrants, and the destination of Henry's trip was Durkheim, Germany, his hometown; he was very ill at the time and died shortly after his return to Philadelphia. The collection also includes a diary (partly resembling an autograph album) belonging to Frederick Martin Rabe, whom Catherine later married. Rabe, also a German immigrant and resident of Philadelphia, wrote the diary in 1871 when he was living in Lawrence, New South Wales, Australia.
