Abstract:: Rosalie Stork Regen (1909-1993) was a Quaker author and playwright who joined the Rahway and Plainfield Monthly Meeting in 1941. She was the daughter of Charles Wharton Stork and Elisabeth von Pausinger Stork. An active member of the Society of Friends, Rosalie taught First Day School and visited Quakers all over the world. The collection includes journals kept continuously from 1936 to the time of her death in 1993. She also maintained a prodigious correspondence with family and friends. Includes drafts of her writings, some of which were published: "Peaceful Heroes," a collection of plays, in 1962, and "Forever in Joy," a book of poetry, in 1974.

Abstract:: Martha Routh's journal describes her voyage from London to Boston, which she took in 1794. Entries describe the small group of Quakers that Routh traveled with, including Thomas Scattergood, as well as descriptions of the weather, communications with other ships during the journey, and Routh's struggles with illness on board. The journal ends when Routh arrives in Boston, and her last entry describes her Quaker hosts there, and the burial of a man who died on board the ship.

Abstract:: Margaretta Walton (1829-1904), eminent Quaker minister of Ercildoun, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The collection contains diaries and correspondence of Walton and her husband, Jesse Pusey Walton; business papers and memorabilia; sermons; and related papers. Also included in the collections are journals (1836-1853) of her father, Joseph Shoemaker Walton, who was companion to several Quaker ministers.

Abstract:: Mary Shackleton Leadbeater was an Irish Quaker poet and author. Her diary was written for Sarah Dillwyn, and entitled "A Tour Through the Northern Part of England." Entries describe Leadbeater's arrival in Dublin, her voyage to England, including a description of the ship and passengers, her arrival in Liverpool, and her travels to see various Friends throughout London and Northern England.

Abstract:: Ann Shipley accompanied Anna Braithwaite on her two interviews with Elias Hicks in January and March 1824, and wrote a letter, dated October 15, 1824, defending Anna Braithwaite's account of the meeting. Her diary entries detail her travels throughout Pennsylvania, including visits with Friends and attendance at Quaker meetings.
