- The Moore family arrived in Philadelphia in the early nineteenth century and opened a wire company in the city. The Alfred Fitler Moore Family Papers consist of correspondence, diaries, financial material, photographs, and artifacts of Joseph and Cecelia (Fitler) Moore; their children William Joseph, Jr, and Alfred; as well as Cecelia's father and brother Alfred Fitler and Alfred Fitler, Jr. The bulk of the collection relates to Alfred Fitler Moore, benefactor of the Alfred Fitler Moore School of Electrical Engineering.
