Abstract:

Joshua Pickersgill (1780-1818) was a British lieutenant in the Bengal Army under the East India Company during the Third Anglo-Maratha War (known at the time as the Third Mahratta War). These letters, addressed to "Sir" are dated between March 18 and August 7, 1818 and describe, in detail, military activities as they occurred.
