Abstract:: The Swarthmore Historical Society was established in 1988 to document, preserve, and protect the historic resources of the Borough of Swarthmore, Pa. Its archives were deposited in Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. The collection contains general reference files concerning the history, organizations, and activities of the Borough, combining materials collected by Swarthmore Historical Society together with reference files and photographs compiled by Friends Historical Library. Of particular interest are the field surveys on historic structures compiled for the Swarthmore Historic Resources Survey.

Abstract:: The Swarthmore Historical Society was founded in 1988, and its collections were deposited in Friends Historical Library in 1996. Abstract:: This collection consists of 4 binders of original and copy photographs and negatives, dating from approximately 1880 to 2005, of the Swarthmore Borough, located in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Many of the images were used in the book Swarthmore Illustrated: A Centennial History by Susanna K. Morikawa and Patricia C. O'Donnell (1993).
