- John K. Pearson (born 1945) earned a J.D. from the University of California's Hastings College of Law in 1973. Pearson has served as Assistant United States Trustee to the Justice Department in Wichita, Kan., United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Districts of Kansas and Colorado, and Professor of Law at Presidents College of Law in Wichita, Kan. He has participated in a number of bankruptcy and legal organizations, including the American Bankruptcy Institute, where he served on the Board of Directors from 1989 to 1998, as Secretary from 1991 to 1995, as a member of the Executive Committee from 1989 to 1994, and as Chair of the Committee on Bankruptcy Rules.
