Abstract:: Albert S. Beers, Sr. (1864-1938) and his son, Albert S. Beers, Jr. (1895-1979) operated funeral homes at 529 W. Jefferson St. in Philadelphia and 67-69 E. Baltimore Ave in Lansdowne, Pa. They sold the Lansdowne location in 1948 to William D. Johnston. Johnston Funeral Home continues to operate there as of 2013. This collection includes records from Johnston Funeral Home and the funeral home that previously operated on the same premises, Beers Funeral Home. The Johnston Funeral Home and Beers Funeral Home records, 1904-1994, consist primarily of invoices/statements for funerals and funeral registers. There is also a small amount of correspondence and a few miscellaneous documents.
