Abstract:

Eleanor Freeman (1818-1903) and Katharine Freeman Scott-Holmes (1854-1948) were members of a prominent, British family. Their collections of recipes provide a glimpse into how tastes in foods, availability of ingredients, and economy changed what people ate. This collection consists of recipe and household tips collected by Eleanor Freeman and her daughter Katharine Scott-Holmes from the 1870s to the early 1930s.
