- Clarkson Clothier (1846-1917) of Philadelphia was an avid businessman and actively participated in numerous social and charitable organizations. In 1901, he embarked on a trip around the world with his family, which they documented through photographs and travel diaries. The Clarkson Clothier Lantern Slide Collection includes lantern slides of photographs from his trip, as well as purchased professional slides of views from around the world. These lantern slides have been catalogued in the digital database. The collection also includes two travel diaries.
