He had a thirty year career at Penn where he rose to the position of Executive Vice President University of Pennsylvania Medical Center. The Edward J. Stemmler Papers document his career as a physician and administrator in Philadelphia, most notably at the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center as well as his military service in the 1950s.
